PARADE DAY & STAGING

Parade staging will take place at Expo Square on Saturday, May 30.

Drivers must enter through Gate 3 off East 21st Street and follow all directions from event staff and law enforcement. Please reference the Expo Square Arrival Map below for staging access and traffic flow instructions.

Important Timing:

· Parade route closures begin at 5:00 a.m.
· Drivers may begin arriving at 6:00 a.m.
· Recommended arrival window: 6:00–9:00 a.m.
· Final arrival deadline: 10:00 a.m.

Please note: We do NOT recommend everyone arriving at 6:00 a.m. Arriving later in the staging window may help reduce wait times before entering the route.

Vehicles will not be staged in a specific order. Cars will enter the parade route two vehicles at a time through Gate 7 and be dispatched by volunteers and law enforcement.

Route to Parade Entry:

· Exit Gate 7
· Turn right onto 15th Street
· Turn left onto Yale Avenue
· Turn left onto Historic Route 66 (11th Street)

Once you enter the route, you are officially part of the world-record attempt.

ON THE ROUTE

Drivers are required to maintain a continuous speed of approximately 8–10 miles per hour throughout the parade route while keeping a safe following distance of approximately two car lengths between vehicles. Maintaining a steady, continuous flow is critical to the success of the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® attempt. If gaps occur in the parade, do not attempt to “catch up” or close the gap by speeding. Event staff and officials will manage the overall pace of the cruise.

To comply with GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® requirements:

· Maintain distance of approximately two car lengths between vehicles
· Vehicles may not stop along the route unless directed by officials
· Drivers may not exit the parade early except for emergencies
· Vehicles may not re-enter the parade once they have exited

Decorations & Signage:

Tasteful Route 66-themed decorations, small flags, and car club identification are welcome. Decorations must remain:

· Non-commercial
· Non-political
· Safe and secure for driving

Car clubs are limited to two signs per vehicle, each no larger than 18” x 24”.

Passing out candy, flyers, merchandise, or promotional items is prohibited.

Fuel & Pit Stops

We strongly encourage drivers to fuel up before arriving at staging.

QuikTrip serves as the official Pit Stop & Driver Sponsor of Capital Cruise. Drivers may stop at the designated QT location at 11th & Utica if absolutely necessary for fuel, restrooms, or refreshments before safely returning to the route.

VEHICLE SAFETY DURING PARADE

If your vehicle stalls or experiences mechanical issues:

· Safely pull as far to the left or right curb as possible
· Notify the nearest volunteer or public safety official
· Remain with your vehicle and wait for instructions

Do not attempt to exit through intersections or re-enter the parade route.

To maintain the integrity of the world-record attempt, tow operations will begin after the conclusion of the parade whenever possible.

All Cruise Party Zones include:

· First Aid Stations
· Fire extinguishers
· Radio-connected event staff and safety personnel

END OF PARADE

The official parade route concludes near 11th Street & Denver Avenue in Downtown Tulsa.

Please review the map outlining the four official exit strategies.

Once you reach the official finish line at 11th Street & Denver Avenue, drivers may begin to safely accelerate and transition out of parade speed. Drivers will then be directed to one of four designated exit route as detail on the map.

Potential exit routes include:

· Riverside Drive: Continue west on 11th Street and turn south (left) onto Riverside Drive.
· Southwest Boulevard / Historic Route 66: Continue west on 11th Street and merge onto Southwest Boulevard near the Arkansas River bridge.
· Highway 75 South: Continue west on 11th Street and follow signage/ramps for Highway 75 South.
