If you’re driving Route 66 this year, consider staying at some of the historic hotels that are scattered along the legendary journey between Chicago and Los Angeles.
Most of these hotels, motels and motor lodges were built around the same time the federal government began numbering highways (like Route 66) in the mid-1920s. And over time, they became favorite stops on the long cross-country journey.
