Taking its name from the area’s origins of being a neighborhood social hotspot, Hodges Bend retains all the charm and aesthetics of a 1940’s cafe. On the heels of the European cafe business model, Hodges Bend would easily make the cut for an article on Tulsa’s bar scene as well.

Hodges Bend serves locally sourced and locally roasted coffee, and can brew it for you through a variety of slow bar methods. Hodges even serves a slow drip cold brew that filters through a science-fiction-looking glass contraption that allows you to watch the entire process.

Of course, if you’re perfectly caffeinated and are looking for boozier options, Hodges Bend also offers creative takes on classic cocktails such as the Tobacco Old-Fashioned.

Toting a motto like “Stay Weird”, you can only assume that Cirque Coffee Roasters aim to roast truly wild coffee, and you would be correct. Cirque omits a roast level on all of their packaging because they stick to a light roast for all of their coffee, aiming to bring out the vast complexities in flavor that are possible with a light roast without sacrificing any quality in taste.

Even if you like your coffee bold and would rather chew on grounds than drink light roast, there’s still plenty of reason to visit Cirque.

Housed in rustic walls covered by eccentric art, it's a nice casual setting to get lost in conversation. Whether you’re conversing over a glass of draft latte, draft beer or a harmonious concoction of both alcohol and coffee in Cirque’s Cold Brew Arnold Palmer, you're sure to find enjoyment in this quirky spot.

A Brookside icon, Shades of Brown Coffee & Art offers a welcoming atmosphere with incredible coffee, local art and cozy vibes.  

Its eclectic collection of furniture and local art on display is representative of all the unique people you’ll meet there. It's not uncommon to find a creative writer plugging away at an extensive draft or a photographer meticulously editing their work in Photoshop. If this is something you can relate to, you’ll be happy to find that Shades has plenty of nooks and crannies to burrow away with a mug of endless drip coffee to spend the evening with a book or stack of work.

Chimera is an industrial-chic café is constantly topping lists of places to visit. Over half the menu contains locally-sourced veggie and vegan options made fresh daily. You can also enjoy a full bar with craft brews and cocktails.

Located on historic Route 66, Foolish Things Coffee Company is a trendy and spacious joint serving incredible coffee along with breakfast and lunch items. Enjoy an artfully poured craft coffee, tea or even a tasty pastry or quiche. Stop by to get some work done or catch up with friends over a freshly brewed drink.

Triangle is another coffee shop in the middle of downtown that somehow still manages to feel like an escape from the hustle and bustle of life. As with many of Tulsa’s coffee shops, the natural light here is a nice touch to light up the just-small-enough cafe, making it a cozy lunch break or post-work stop.

The pastries are delicious and the baristas are personable and always willing to nerd out about coffee with you when you order your coffee brewed at the slow bar. Onyx coffee is the weapon of choice at Triangle, a prolific micro-roaster based in neighboring Arkansas.

Gypsy Coffee House, with Jenks and downtown Tulsa locations, has all the artsy vibes you’re looking for. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the quirky warehouse atmosphere with vegan and veggie-friendly sandwiches.

Opened in March 2004, DoubleShot Coffee Company started with an epiphany about fresh coffee. Now it's a Tulsa favorite for in-house roasted craft drinks and small bites, all in a large, modern and industrial space. 

If you need to set up a quick meeting or work remote somewhere with plenty of coffee–this is a great place for you.

On a mission to increase intergenerational literacy and build a better community, Fulton Street is a one-stop shop to enjoy coffee, books and discourse. Located north of downtown Tulsa, Fulton Street is a hub for book clubs and other community events.

At least 70% of the books they carry are written by or featuring BBIPOC and/or marginalized communities. Head to Fulton Street to find your next favorite book and something yummy to sip on while you read.

Lagom－a Swedish term for “just the right amount” or “everything in moderation”. The provocative name itself is enough to get you through the doors of this South Tulsa coffee shop. Upon entering Lagom, it feels like you’ve traversed into one of the many gourmet cafes of Europe. 

Lagom brings a new roaster to the mix in Tulsa as all of their coffee is shipped in from Olympia Coffee Company in Washington. They use this to brew all the essentials of a coffee shop (espresso, cold brew, pour-over), while also offering some delectable options unique from other coffee shops (smoothies, delicious crepes, artisan sandwiches/salads/soups). 

Notion Espresso is an underground creative hub touting local art on downtown’s East side. Housed in a historical building downtown known as The Dock, Notion is great for coffee, a quick bite–or both.

Showcasing installations by local artists on a rotating basis, Notion is a center for creativity in Tulsa. 

She Brews Coffee House serves coffee with a cause, employing formerly incarcerated women and offering other programs from housing to mentorships.

Stop by their convenient Kendall-Whittier shop or one of their two Claremore locations for a delicious latte and snack to kick off a busy day.

Sona Coffee boasts a light, airy space with large windows located in the Blue Dome District. Grab a coffee, roasted fresh daily, and ascend the spiral staircase to cozy loft seating that inspires conversation.
