River Trails
As the Arkansas River rolls through Tulsa, so do the city's beautiful River Trails. Sprawling from the Tulsa-Sand Springs "Katy" Trail on the former railroad right-of-way northeast of downtown ' to the Creek Turnpike Trail cutting across South Tulsa, the trail system provides 50-plus beautiful miles for biking, jogging, walking or rollerblading. The heart of these paved pathways hugs the river's east bank for 10 miles, from downtown southward to 101st Street. As you stroll, jog, or pedal along, enjoy the numerous wildlife sculptures. Take in a rugby match. Or search the skies for the bald eagles that hunt along the river. The mostly lighted trails weave their way through Tulsa's 800-acre River Parks System and its many playgrounds and picnic areas.
