Still I Rise an Indian classical dance performance by Vidhya Subramanian

Still I Rise is a dramatic dance-theatre presentation incorporating all elements of Bharatanatyam, some elements of yoga, theatre, spoken word and music. The performance exemplifies the example of Draupadi by urging every woman to awaken and realize that, especially in the current times, she has to fend for herself. Still I Rise will intersperse Pushyamitra Upadhyay's Ab Govind na Ayenge, in Hindi poem, with Maya Angelou's, Still I Rise - “You may write me down in history, with your bitter, twisted lies You may trod me in the very dirt, but still, like dust I’ll rise. Out of the huts of history’s shame I rise. Up from a past that’s rooted in pain I rise” - Maya Angelou
