VisitTulsa welcomes travel writers
VisitTulsa welcomes the Central States Chapter - Society of American Travel Writers conference to Tulsa this week. Forty-five writers from across the country will be here Tuesday through Friday to learn what the Tulsa region has to offer.
Attendees will dine at some of Tulsa's top local restaurants, and conference sessions will take place at the Hyatt Regency Downtown. Scheduled tours for the writers will span across northeast Oklahoma and include destinations such as the Tulsa metro, Tahlequah, Bartlesville and Claremore.
Earned media from the conference is projected to total more thanr $1 million. Attendees are freelance writers for publications such as National Geographic, New York Times and many more across the country.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for Tulsa to show off its best assets and why we are a top visitor destination," said Ray Hoyt, senior vice president of VisitTulsa and Tulsa Sports Commission.
